I finished my last shoot two weeks ago and slowly each day I have been wrapping up all of my final work for 2010. It's getting a bit harder to sit at my desk and work with my growing belly, so I am not getting as much done each day, but it is giving me more time with my family which is great.

Carsyn and I have been doing lots of Christmas shopping, lots of snuggling, lots of baking and just enjoying our last few weeks as just mommy and daughter. Some days I get a little teary eyed when we are playing in her room and I realize how big she is. I know it will be even crazier when we bring home Cruz and realize how big she really is.

I have looked through her baby photos countless times and tried to imagine what Cruz is going to look like. I am really going to try to journal more through those first few weeks with Cruz. I look at baby photos of Carsyn (I am so glad I took them all) but I wonder... what was I thinking? What was I going through? What was the Lord teaching me during that sweet yet hard season of life?

This morning I woke up to a cold quiet empty house. For some reason the heater wasn't on and it was 64 degrees! No wonder I had a hard time getting out of bed. The house was strangely empty as Carsyn was still asleep... and I was still pregnant.

I finally got the heater to come on just in time to hear Carsyn talking in her bed, "Mommy, I needa go poooooottttttyyyy."

I stumbled in to get her and we had our coffee and milk and chatted for a while. She was cracking me up with her facial expression so I decided it was time for me to pull my camera out, that I haven't used in almost 2 weeks! I have been missing it so much but at the same time enjoying the small break. I love the light in our place early in the morning so I gave her some fruity pebbles and let her eat at the coffee table so I could take advantage of the great light... this is what we got.

Keller and Daniel's Amazing Santa Cruz Wedding

Sooo this might be a long post! :)
I absolutely loved everything about Keller and Daniel's wedding. From the location, her amazing dress, her vintage ring, gorgeous ceremony site and then a rocking reception. Drew and I had a blast and laughed and smiled the whole day. Not to mention they are super cool amazing people.
We are so excited for Keller and Daniel and their new life together! Here is a little glimpse into their fun day!

Sometimes It Rains...

AND I love when my clients are willing to roll with it. Living in the Bay area we do have some incredible places to take photos, but we also have some unpredictable weather.
I took photos for this cute little family last year and this year with my limited amount of time to shoot, Kati and I found a day that worked and went with it, but it rained ;(
So we did what we could outside before the kids were totally done and then we ventured inside and had loads of fun jumping on the bed and just letting the kids be kids!! These are some of my favorite photos!
Thanks for being so flexible you guys ;) We will pray for a gorgeous day next year!

Happy Thanksgiving!! As of today I wrapped up my last photo shoot for the year. I will start shooting again the last weekend of February so if you want to get on the calendar go ahead and e-mail me as several slots have already been snatched up!

My brother and sister gave up their normal Thanksgiving Traditions and flew out from Oklahoma and Texas to spend the Holiday with us!! I had to snap a few fun photos of them with our Carsyn. She loves them both so much!!

I have several and I mean SEVERAL blog posts coming over the next two months to catch up for my lack of blogging lately!! Sooo be looking for lots of fun sessions!

Baby boy should be here in T-5 weeks!! We will keep you posted on that as well!!

Andrina Family Photos {Downtown Tiburon}}

I took photos for Andrina a few months ago for little Charlie's newborn photos. She booked one of my Baby's First Year Packages so we take photos every 3 months. How fun to capture your family for a year in photos! It's crazy how much kiddos change in 3 months!

Anyways, how incredibly adorable are their children and how fun are their pictures!!! She wanted a nice family photo in Christmas attire and I do believe we captured it! Amazing job with attire Andrina!

Sorry for my lack of blogging lately, I have been focusing on getting photos shot, edited and into families hands before the Holiday Season! BUT, come December I have a list of photos to blog for over two months, so be looking!!

It really should be illegal to be this cute! Becky and Jeremy actually used to be our neighbors before they moved to the beautiful wine country!! Becky was pregnant with Will (or had just had him... when they moved) so I haven't had the opportunity to get to know him that well, but BOY is he cute and a sweetie! Best of The Bay in Marin! A Huge Honor!

A few months ago I was contacted to compete in a competition for the Best of the Bay Photographers. At first I actually turned it down. I told them no and then I agreed to call back the next day to let them know because I felt rude for turning it down. The word competition freaks me OUT and the anxiety that comes over me being in front of people is unreal. I am an incredibly outgoing person, but when all of the attention is on me I get hot and nervous and OH.MY.GOSH. it's just not my thing.

Anyways, my great friend and fellow photographer Rachel Blackwell, gave me a big pep talk and talked me into doing the competition. So, I called back and agreed. I spent a long time choosing my two photos. I wanted them to reflect things that I see in photography, my style of photography and things I love. More then that I wanted them to reflect my awesome fun clients as well! (see the two photos below to see what I chose).

So, I went to the competition. I took my two photos of choice and I presented. I told them who I was as a person and a photographer. I felt energized as I told them about my photos, the way I shoot, and why I shoot. I shoot for my clients. I shoot to help make beautiful memories for my clients for years to come. When I left I felt older and wiser and really proud of myself for doing something 100% outside of my comfort zone. I gave Drew a high five and we moved on... never did I think they would call back!!

Anyways, I got a call yesterday that they loved me and had chosen me from all of the other photographers that competed in my county to go on a compete at a Gala Event in the city. OH.MY.GOSH. I have to present in front of people again, and this time 6 weeks before my due date?! Oh dear! What do I wear?! haha!!

Anyways, I just wanted to share this exciting news on my blog and the two photos that I presented!!

Helen Family Photos {{Shakespeare Garden}}

Another fun shoot at Shakespeare Garden! SG is one of my favorite locations in the city for family photos. You can always count on it being gorgeous, it's closed off by trees and gorgeous benches so your kids can't run too far. Also, I think it is a great reflection of the beauty of Golden Gate Park! If you are searching for a location to take photos I 100% recommend this place!! Plus it is fully shaded by 4:00 so it makes for an earlier shoot which is easier on your kiddos.

On to Helen and her adorable kiddos! I took their photos last year at the Palace of Fine Arts so this year we wanted to try something new. Her kids are so stinking adorable and really loved the camera and the idea of having their photos done. We had a blast coming up with fun ideas. Enjoy!

Sadly, this fun family is moving away from the Bay Area. Denise contacted me a few months back to take photos at Crissy Field with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background, to have some fun memories of the place where their daughter was born. We worked to find a day that both of our schedules worked, and the weather wasn't too foggy to see the GG Bridge. We just happened to find the perfect morning!! Crissy Field makes for a VERY early morning shoot (if there isn't fog, starting around 7:15) but besides the early rising, the photos are so fun!!

Elsie and Jared had a super fun bridal party! Elsie's girls got to choose their own dresses so it brought a ton of fun styles together! How cute are these two little boys!? I mean Austin, melt my heart with those eyes and little Will is too cute for words. I cannnnnot wait to be a mama to a little boy. I love TuTu's and bows and my frilly little girl... but something about baseball gloves, football games, little surfer boy and just those sweet hugs from your boy... I can't wait! Just 3 more months.

A few months ago I got a phone call from Chuck asking me if I could photograph their Proposal. You may remember that post from HERE. Shortly after they asked Drew and I to be their wedding photographers and of course we were so excited. Sarah and Chuck go to our church in Pacifica (New Life) and we have had SO MUCH fun getting to know them. We are so excited for their wedding and for their marriage... they are one amazing couple!!!

Elsie and Jared {{Sebastopol Wedding}}

Elsie and Jared are a fun loving, laid back yet incredibly unique couple. I have had so much fun getting to know the two of them over the past several months. Jared is a little quiet at first but once you start to get to know him he has a fun loving personality and is not as quiet as you first imagined. Elsie is someone you want to be best friends with. While I was listening to her Maid of Honor, Celeste, give her Toast I kept thinking, man, I want to be her friend! Elsie is sweet as could be, would not hurt a fly, silly, funny and the girl LOVES to have a good time. Every time we talked wedding she reminded me that she wanted DANCING pictures ;) (and boy did we get some dancing pictures!!!)

I am starting their first sneak peek off with photos of the two love birds who are currently living it up in Europe (I am so incredibly jealous). So enjoy their little love story in pictures, more to come!!

Elsie and Jared got married at an AMAZING venue, The Vine Hill House, in Sebastopol and had incredible florists, Bloom Floral & Event Design, from Santa Rosa. Both were amazing people to work with.

Reann, my neighbor, had her second little girl several weeks ago. I snapped a few photos of Lily and their two year old daughter, Mara, when Lily was just a few days old. Mara wasn't having anything to do with the photos and Lily was pretty upset, but we did manage to capture a few fun memories!

I feel like it was just yesterday that I was taking Mara's newborn photos!!

April and Peter {Maternity}

April is due with baby #4 at the beginning of October! April and Peter are great parents to each one of their very fun and unique children. Sarah is energetic, full of laughs smiles and funny faces. Lila is as sweet as could be. I cannot figure out if she is shy or if she just chooses who she wants to smile at or talk to. When we first started taking photos she wanted NOTING to do with me or my camera. By the end of the shoot she was flashing smiles, talking to me and showing me the dandelions she picked! Simon is... well, he is a boy and he is one and he is BUSY!! Lets just say sweet April has her hands full and she is about to add another!

They wanted to capture these fun family photos as this is their last baby and this is their last time to have photos as a family of five! Can't wait to meet your new little guy!

Another Personal Post...

I rented a lens that I have had my eye on for several months to see it is something worth investing in. I have a wedding this weekend and several shoots on the calendar over the next few weeks but I wanted to give it a try this evening. I can definitely say, I LOVE IT and want to own it someday!! (but it almost cost more than my camera so it's time to save!!)

Anyways, more than I love that lens, I love this sweet girl. We were practicing saying that she is two in most of these (she will be in 3 weeks, break my heart). But she couldn't understand to just hold up two fingers ;) too precious.

Jessica and Caleb {{Reception/Ceremony: Final Post}}

Jessica and Caleb actually got married in the same church as Drew and I. I was so excited to shoot in this church, because it is the church that I grew up in. It has horrible lighting, photos are dark because you cannot use your flash, and I chose to edit them all in BW because the coloring isn't the best. BUT the building is old and gorgeous and such a romantic setting for a wedding. So I threw on my big daddy lens, cranked up my ISO and wahlaa, here are their ceremony photos.

Carsyn loves art. Drew and I both love that she loves art so much, being artists ourselves. I love watching her explore with her crayons and her paints and just seeing what she comes up with. The mind of a two year old is so precious and pure, I absolutely love watching her grow up.

I've really been trying to pull my camera out lately and just capture her being her. As excited as I am about having our little boy in 3.5 months, I am also feeling a strange sadness that she will no longer be my only baby...

So I have a feeling I will be taking several photos of our little girl over the next few months. Then I cannot wait to capture the two of them together!!

Dominic, Mitchy and Maddie's {{Santa Cruz, CA Wedding}}

I met Dominic, Mitchy and their precious daughter Maddie in January when I took their engagement photos at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. To view those click HERE and HERE.

They are a beautiful couple and their love for each other and their sweet little girl is deep. I had so much fun taking their engagement photos so I knew their wedding day was going to be a blast. Mitchy was surrounded by wonderful women who love and support her so much. Dominic's groomsmen were fun and hilarious and kept Drew and I laughing the whole day. I have some fantastic photos to share later from some of the dancing and out-takes from the day!

The lighting in Santa Cruz was magical on their wedding day. It has been foggy for majority of the summer so I was so excited to be shooting in the sun again and soaking in some gorgeous sun flare!! I have really missed the sun flare!! How gorgeous is Mitchy?! She was a stunnnning bride! Dominic, you are a lucky guy!!

Home from San Diego and Coronado!!

Drew and I packed up our car, strapped on Drew's surf boards, filled our ice chest with goodies and took off down the coast last Thursday with a busy two year old in the back. I downloaded a few episodes of Dora on my phone before we left town and BOY AM I GLAD I did!! 10 hours in the car is not ideal for a potty trained two year old that needs to go "POTTY MOMMY" every hour and wants to run around as well.

Outside of the time spent in the car we had a blast. We stayed in down town San Diego and spent the whole week on Coronado with my good friend (and fellow photographer) and her family. We played on the beach (which Carsyn called a SAND BO), ate, swam, took photos and did so many fun things.

Drew and I also spent some time at La Jolla beach, one of my all time favorite beaches. We did two little photo shoots with Carsyn, hoping to get some good ones for her 2nd Birthday Party invitation! I think I am going to use several from this little session!

About a month ago I got a call from a Houston number and I thought, oh that must be a friend from home. A few days later when I listened to the voice message it was actually Emily, who lives in Marin but moved here from Houston, looking to have family photos done. I was so excited to call her back and hear where she grew up and what brought them from the blazing humid heat in Houston to the beautiful West Coast! I immediately hit it off with Emily and the sweet girl invited me to her play group, which we now attend weekly!!

Emily has an amazing story. She an amazingly strong person with more energy and drive than one human should have! Emily loves the Lord, her family and any person that she meets with such a sincere love! She does not know a stranger and she would give you the shirt off of her back, I know it.

Anyways, despite the drizzly morning at Crissy Field we had a blast taking photos and the girls were so precious just running around, getting all dirty in the damp field. Thanks for being open to anything you guys, I had a blast!!!

Jessica and Caleb {{Couple Sneak Peek}}

I am so excited to post these photos!! A few weeks ago I got to pack up my bags and fly back to Texas where I grew up, and photograph one of my best friends weddings.

Jessica and I met when she was in 7th and I was in 8th grade. Her big sister was our Youth Intern at church so she introduced us! Jess was a skinny little thing, probably didn't weigh 80 pounds sopping wet, and her sweet spirit was just as fragile as her skinny little self was. Jessica is a deeeeep deeep lover and when she cares for people, she truly cares for them. Her heart & spirit are so incredibly soft and sweet that I remember thinking while we were growing up, can someone be that sweet??

By the time Jessica was 18 she decided to go to the same college as me. I was beyond thrilled and was so excited to welcome her to my college campus!! I loved having her so close to me!! I watched Jessica grow from a sweet little girl into a beautiful young lady over the course of our college experience. Jess was there with me when Drew and I started dating, she stood on the very same stage that she was married on to support me in my marriage, and she has 100% encouraged me through my marriage, starting my own company, and she has loved my sweet little Carsyn like she is her own niece.

Needless to say, Jessica is like a sister to me and I feel so so blessed to have been able to capture her wedding day for her. When she called me to tell me she was getting married in August I quickly asked if I could be her photographer instead of trying to squeeze into a dress 5 months pregnant. She was thrilled that I offered and I was so thrilled that she would except the gift!!

When I arrived at the Rehearsal I was so excited to meet this Caleb guy that I had heard so much about. I was definitely hesitant to except this boy that was marrying my sweet little Jess, but Caleb is hard not to love. His love for Jessica is just as deep as hers. I loved watching him take care of her through out the weekend. He is such a leader and I know that he will lead their family in such a Godly way. So Caleb, I totally approve of you marrying my girl Jess ;) thanks for being so good to her.

Ok, now on with the photos! I barely had to give these two ideas. They were just overflowing with love that I just followed them around and shot away. Thank you guys for such a special day!!!

There is something special about the first few moments of a bride putting on her wedding gown on her big day. After planning for months and months, tons of stress and tons of huge decisions to make the moment is finally here. It is time to put on the dress. No turning back now. The day has begun and you are getting closer to finally getting to see your groom and calling him your husband. I love capturing the emotion and smiles on everyones face as you slip into your dress and you just glow. You are finally living that fairy tail we have all dreamed about since we were little girls.

Chase {3 Month Old Sneak Peek}

Meet Chase!! He is one of the cutest little 3 month old baby boys I have ever met. He was full of smiles from the moment I walked in the door, until I left. (see below)

Just talking to him made him full of smiles. AND his mama has no doubt in her mind that he loves her! Anytime she even looked his way his whole demeanor was bright and bubbly!! I love that love between moms and their little boys. *(sorry, I think I talk about how excited I am for our little boy every post)*

The lighting in their home and yard was gorgeous and it was so nice to shoot on a sunny non foggy day! This might have been one of my first non-foggy photo shoots all season!! I am hoping the fog will stay at bay and we can continue to enjoy this great sunshine (minus the 100* temperatures!!)

Luke {1 Year Photos: Shakespeare Garden}

You might recognize this little guy from his newborn photos almost a year ago, HERE. It is crazy to see how much he has grown up, and how much I have changed as a photographer! So much in one year!!
Luke is a melt your heart kind of guy. He has the cutest little puppy dog eyes that just make you fall in love with him!! He was so happy the whole entire photo shoot and he was passing out smiles right and left.

Anja and Richard are awesome parents and they have nothing but love for this little guy. I love when I can see the pride in parents faces during a photo session. After this shoot with Luke I am even more excited for our little boy to arrive!!

These two might be in love... Seriously. Christina and Jeff are totally and completely 100% in love with each other. I so enjoyed working with the two of them! Their love is deep, by the stories they tell they have walked through a lot together to make that so. Their wedding was gorgeous and they were both beaming with love and happiness! I am so excited to share this sneak peek.

At their reception Christina's younger sister shared a toast in their honor and at the end she shared this quote. It moved me to tears and I just have to share it!

Texas Vacation!

A little vacation for me and Miss C!
Last Thursday Carsyn and I packed up our bags and took the long flight from CA to TX!! I had the absolute privilege of photographing one of my dearest friends weddings on Saturday and besides that we have been relaxing and just enjoying some R&R with my family. My brother was able to drive up from Austin for the weekend and my little sister has been on college break. It has been so nice to see Carsyn be loved on, but we do miss Drew.

My mom and I bought this little leotard for Carsyn this afternoon and we just had to take some photos of her in it with her TuTu!! She was so cute attempting her dance moves, but really just running from the camera!!

Sorry If I haven't e-mailed back quickly I have been forcing myself to take a week long break from editing and not checking e-mail too often!! I will be back next week!!

Meet Charlotte! She is the daughter of Ken and Andrina and little sister of Landon. She has gorgeous eyes and a beautiful smile! Elsie and Jared are a fun loving couple that live in Southern California. When I met Elsie a few months ago at The Grove to discuss her wedding I knew I was going to love working with her! She was fun and sweet and knew exactly what she wanted. My kind of girl :)
We took their engagement photos in front of Cupids Arrow by the Pier's (where they got Engaged!!) and in North Beach (the Italian district) because they are going to Italy for their Honeymoon! I love how diverse San Francisco is and the endless options it has for photos!

Sonya and Mike {Engagement Session}

I am so excited to post these photos!!! Sonya and Mike are one of those couples that you just instantly click with! Sonya called me a few weeks ago looking to have some great Engagement photos done of her and Mike. She didn't really have a vision, she just wanted them to reflect them as a couple. Sonya is a tiny little thing, cute jeans and hills. Mike is definitely the opposite of that, as you can see in their foot picture below. Mike owns a Harley, and Sonya had never stepped on a Harley before meeting Mike. I love how well they mesh together though despite their different interests. Reminds me sooo much of Drew and I. My surfer dude with long hair and not a care in the world, me a Texas gal with blonde hair who never dreamed of swimming in the ocean. Ew!

Anyways, we had a blast trotting around the city to Baker Beach, Crissy Field, the Ferry Building and ending the evening with a toast at Sinbad's on the water.

Emma and Riley {BIG Sneak Peek!!}

I have so many fun photos to share from this session. Drew and I shot a wedding in Ken and Sharon's backyard in the middle of June and we just fell in love with their home and of course we just loved them as well. They e-mailed us a few weeks later to come back out and take photos of their cute grandkids and I was sooo excited to shoot in their backyard again. They have their very own vineyard and basically my dream back yard.

Riley is a mans man and Emma is a GIRLY GIRL!! She loved having her photos taken and she was just bursting with ideas!! Riley surprisingly had a ton of ideas up his sleeve as well (he was definitely not too cool for photos, I was impressed!)!! They both took me all around the back yard and I just had a blast. I was giggling the whole time at Miss Emma, envisioning Carsyn being the exact same way in a few years.

Christopher is 5 weeks old in these photos and so precious. The first two months of life is the best time to schedule a newborn session. If you want a sleepy baby curled up into small newborn positions, the first 2 weeks is the best for a newborn session. But if you want photos when your baby is opening their eyes and showing their personality a little bit more, 4-6 weeks is a great time!

So, how precious is this little guy? He did great for the whole shoot. His room is beautifuly decorated, you can tell his mama spent a lot of time considering the details. Even though it was a gloomy day in San Francisco the light coming into his room was perfect! Enjoy this little sneak peek!

Kristen and Keith have two of the cutest little babies/toddlers I have had the chance to photograph! Avery and Jack are twins and celebrated their first Birthday a few months ago! Niesha and Floyd/ Dublin, CA Wedding

Niesha and Floyd are an amazing couple!! The first time I spoke with Niesha over coffee and photos I immediately loved the girl! She has such a sweet, soft spirit but at the same time strong and passionate. She knew exactly what she wanted for her wedding and we worked to build the perfect package.
Upon meeting Floyd at their engagement session I completely fell in love with their love story. Friends but never dating until one day Floyd woke up and knew that his wife was right in front of him. Their engagement photos were so fun and I enjoyed getting to know them more as a couple.
Their wedding was sweet, elegant and I cried for the majority of the day. Everything was well thought out and planned to a T. Niesha is a stunning bride and would take anyone's breath away!
Floyd is going to be an amazing husband. He is quiet but at the same time has a ton to say. He got a hold of the microphone during the toasts and gave a 30 minute + toast, but it never seemed long as every single word truly came from his heart. Left me crying again!!

Happy Birthday Miss Molly!!

It was a cold and gloomy day at Crissy Field but Courtney, Jimmy and Molly were up for the challenge! We wanted cute bridge/ Crissy Field photos and I do believe we pulled it off! Majority of the country is enjoying a warm sunny summer while we are enjoying a cold, gloomy foggy summer. A few more months and we will have our summer! I was so nervous about the fog and chill but the photos turned out great and truly reflect the time of year Molly was born!

Anyways, how precious is Molly?! She loved the camera and even more so her parents! They just had to step behind me and she would light up with smiles and clapping! She did so good the whole day despite the chilly breeze and low fog. Courtney and Jimmy are wonderful parents and full of love for their sweet little girl! (How could you not be?!)

A one year photo shoot is a great idea. One year olds still have a lot of interest in the camera and still smile on command or by singing a simple song or doing a dance! They don't move too fast either. All together I am coming to the conclusion more and more that one year is a great age for a photo shoot!

I have been taking photos of little Miss Sienna since her first Birthday! She is such a fun little girl, with a fearless personality! This time we decided to venture to a new location for photos. We went to Tilden Park in Berkeley. They have a fun little indoor area for kids to learn about animals, lots of open and shaded grass and a little petting/ feeding zoo! The animals were a little large, but Sienna was fearless in feeding them! Too cute! She is also starting ballet soon so her mom wanted some photos of her in her adorable outfit!! Carsyn/ Wall Art!!

Since we are having an EXTRA cold summer in the Bay Area, Drew and I decided to buy Carsyn a sand box instead of a swimming pool to play with! Drew and Carsyn have been spending the last few evenings on the porch, Drew grilling on his new Fathers Day gift, and Carsyn playing in her sand box! We have a ton of shade on our porch which makes for fun summer lighting so I have been trying to take more photos of Carsyn. She is such a fun age for photos and such a HAM for the camera these days! These 4 photos turned out to be some of my favorites so I decided to order them matted to hang over my computer/ work station.

I got the prints in yesterday and thought I would share this cute affordable idea to do with photos from your session!

Ross & Kam

A little over a year ago Drew and I got the dreaded call that his brother had been in an accident. He had been hit by a car while riding on his scooter. We didn't receive many details, we just knew that he was alive. I was actually in Texas visiting my parents but Drew was here... alone. I found Drew the quickest flight to Oklahoma and we ended up spending over a week sitting next to Ross in the hospital. After several surgeries, lots of love and prayer Ross started to make a turn for the better and started talking to us. He continued to improve finally got to go home and start recovering on his own.

This May, a year and 2 months later, Drew and I went home for a week to cheer Ross across the stage as he graduated with his Masters in Business. We were so proud to see him walking and even more proud walking across the stage to receive his Masters. I think we were all a little teary eyed that day.

Last weekend we shot Ashlee and Greg's wedding at the gorgeous Murrieta's Well in Livermore. Ashlee and Greg are a wonderful couple with a gorgeous baby girl, Natalia! I will be posting more photos of her later, though she wasn't a fan of the camera on their big day, we still captured a few!
Ashlee looked absolutely breath taking, I loved her dress. Mermaid dresses were just coming out when we got married and I remember trying on tons of them, but I couldn't pull it off. Ashlee definitely pulled it off beautifully!!

K&M's wonderful friends Ken and Sharon offered their backyard for K&M to get married in. When I met them a few weeks ago at their location I was taken away by how gorgeous their home and yard was. They had a perfect place for a ceremony and a small vineyard that made for a romantic setting for the day!

Farewell to the Hew's...

Last night we had a final dinner with some of our best friends and this morning we bid them farewell before they move to Hawaii! We knew this day would come from the day we befriended these two 4 years ago, but 4 years came and went too quickly. This morning my heart sunk and my eyes filled with tears as I realized it was time to hug them goodbye.

When we met Jason and Emily they were not even dating, now 4 years later here they are, a beautiful married couple with one of the most precious 11 month old baby girls I know. Aubrey is Carsyn's bestest friend in the whole world and my heart is going to hurt every time she asks to walk to their house and I have to explain they are gone... :( and gone really far.

and whose going to explain to Drew that his surfing buddy is gone?

BUT on the bright side of things, Emily's family lives in Fresno so we know they will come back to visit and we will be frequenting Hawaii at least once a year for now on, which is SOO exciting to me.

Before they left we did some family photos so they could have fun memories of their time on the main land.

"In Love" is an understatement for these two. Kiersten and Mike have a deep love that is contagious. Being around them you can't help but want to laugh more and love deeper. Every time I am around Kiersten she's smiling from ear to ear and her laugh always makes me want to laugh more. The first time I sat down to talk wedding with K&M I knew we were a fit. We laughed, they told me fun stories about themselves and their love story and I felt right at home. When Mike talks or tells stories Kiersten looks him in the eye and listens with pride! Honestly, this couple has a love that will provide a long happy future for them, and I am so excited to see where life leads their love story!

Elizabeth and Loren got married Tuesday June 1st at the Crooked Vine in Livermore. It was a gorgeous day, the sky was clear, the air was just right and the people were wonderful!

When Loren's bestman was giving the toast he said, Liz and Loren are perfect for one another... and as I have had the privilege of getting to know these two over the last few months... I could not agree more!

Gerstle Park is still one of my favorite locations in Marin! The grass is so green and you have the mix of the park and the playground which is always fun for photos of kiddos!
I have been photographing Jodi and her family for over a year now and it has been so much fun to see their family grow! Rhett and Annesley are super sweet and they know exactly what to do when I get my camera out! Jodi is so good about making sure she has photos of her kids every 3-6 months, which I think is so important!

First of all, I am so behind on blogging! To all of my faithful readers thank you thank you for still hanging around! I took a two week vacation and am finally playing the catch up game!! I have posts lined up to blog all week look so be on the look out for some FUN Photos!!

Sooo meet Alli! How cute is this baby girl?! She absolutely loved the camera and the photos prove it! She is such a happy little girl! She was clapping and pointing and reading her books... a typical busy 1 year old! She is definitely a loved little girl! Shakespeare Garden is one of my favorite places to take photos in San Francisco. The light is so romantic in the morning and the evening. We actually took these around 5:30 on a very overcast day which made for gorgeous golden light!

Keep this location in mind when planning a photo shoot in the city, it never gets old!!

Niesha and Floyd Engagement {Ferry Building & Baker Beach}

Niesha and Floyd are undeniably in love. Simply looking at him made her face light up and her cute little nose crinkle up like a little school girl with a huge crush!! Floyd never took his eyes off of Niesha and when she leaned into him you could see the safety and security their love portrays. Needless to say they made capturing their love quite simple and natural.
Niesha and Floyd are getting married July 3rd and we have the privilege of photographing their wedding! I love taking engagement photos of couples because it provides an opportunity for them to get comfortable with my shooting style and for me to get to know their love story a little bit better.
We started out at the Ferry Building and it was a HOT San Francisco day. The light was awesome and Niesha was just glowing. After that we headed to Baker Beach and after a few wrong turns we finally made it. I believe there were about 10 couples out taking engagement photos that day as well! Definitely a popular place on the weekends!! Beach photos are always so much fun with the water crashing, sand between your toes, bridge in the background... so fun!!!

Sarah and Chuck Proposal {Grace Cathedral}

When Chuck called me to see if we could photograph Sarah and his proposal I think I might have scared him with how excited I was to except this offer! Sarah and Chuck are such a sweet couple and you can see their love through these photos! They both come from tight knit families that love them both to pieces. I am sure that their wedding will be such an incredible emotional day.

When I saw Sarah and Chuck heading up to Grace Cathedral my heart starting beating out of my chest and I quickly checked to make sure all of my settings were still correct and I started to shoot away. I never took my finger off of the trigger and good thing I didn't because Chuck was down and up and Sarah said yes within a matter of seconds!!
I kept snapping away and ran in closer to share in their excitement. Sarah was so excited and she was just glowing. They are going to be a beautiful married couple and I am so excited to get to know the two of them better!!

Sophie Kate Newborn Sneak Peek!

I have to admit when I first started taking newborn photos they were my weakest field of photography. I am an outdoor natural light kind of girl so shooting indoors used to scare me!! But, having a little baby of my own that I couldn't always take outside photos of forced me to learn to take good indoor photos without a flash. Poor Carsyn has been the subject of many many failed photo shoots but all of those failed attempts pushed me to where I am today. Now I love indoor lighting (at the right time of day, don't get me wrong!!)

Having pushed myself to learn more with my own little subject I know how to use indoor light correctly and newborn photos are one of my strengths instead of something that terrifies me!

So... without further ado meet Sophie Kate! Isn't she gorgeous?! When I arrived at their house her daddy was holding her outside just glowing as proud as a new dad could be. Erin and Mike are amazing parents and Sophie could not have been born into a better family. I know she will be loved and spoiled! We used the blow dryer trick and again it worked like a charm! She curled up in a little ball and let us take photos of her in only her diaper for almost an hour, such a little angel!!

Ava and Skylar!! {Crissy Field Photos!!}

Ava and Skylar are twins and they are the exact age as my little girl! (I thought I was busy! Shawn deserves an award!!) When Shawn contacted me to take their family photos I was so excited because I knew her girls were such a fun age for photos! A year and a half has been one of my favorite ages of my little girl!
They are leaving the baby days behind and running full force into toddlerhood! I have so many photos of the back of Carsyn's head because she is constantly on the go!! So I had my latte and brought a friend along to help for two little one and a half year olds!
Ava and Skylar have their individual personalities and you can see them shinning through in the photos! Shawn and Joe were so patient with them which allowed me to capture them being kids!
We had a fun and busy day at Chrissy Field but the photos turned out so fun!!

Jacqueline should be welcoming her sweet little twins into the world any day now! Doesn't she look amazing for being pregnant with twins?! I have the utmost respect for mama's who carry twins!! I was so uncomfortable with ONE so I have noo idea how you could add in another little baby!! We took photos at Cavallo Point, which is one of my favorite locations to shoot in Marin! I love the green grass, the adirondack chairs, the sailboats, the bridge and the view of the city!! Such a romantic place!

EJ and Charlie had such a fantastic wedding. A huge part of it being FANTASTIC was the close attention they payed to detail! EJ did so well in her planning to make sure that everything flowed nicely on her big day. Leigh {Bridal Photos}

Meet Leigh!! She is my naturally gorgeous friend (or so I like to call her). I have had a vision of doing an all natural bare foot bride shoot for a while. But, I needed a model and I needed for the rain to cease! When I ran this idea past Leigh she was more than willing to help me out. This is actually her wedding dress and it was perfect for my vision. Vintage, golden, bare feet! I love it!
We had such a blast taking photos! Most of them are actually right in from of her house!! Such a gorgeous brick wall!!

Inbal {Maternity Sneak Peek: Mill Valley Depot!!}

It was a gorgeous Saturday morning at the Mill Valley Depot. I arrived a little early to finish my coffee and soak in the fresh air and cool morning breeze. I picked up some trash around the area and found some great locations for photos. The Sun was magical that morning and the Depot was empty and waiting for little kiddos to come run around!!
The minute David, Inbal and little Noam arrived I knew it was going to be a fun shoot. David and Inbal were very evidently in love and their love for their sweet little guy Noam shown all over them! After we chatted for a bit they started to play and I just started snapping away. I looove being able to capture families simply enjoying being a family through my lens. Sure there are times during the shoot that I will help you pose a bit, but the reason I do photography is to offer you this. True photos of your family.
The morning was loads of fun and after about an hour and 4 full memory cards we wrapped it up as we realized Mill Valley was having a Parade!
During the shoot Inbal had to pause a few times for contractions, but she assured me she was fine, she wasn't due yet! BUT little to everyone's surprise they welcomed their new little addition into the family THAT NIGHT!!! I laughed so hard when they told me because this isn't the first time someone has gone into labor after a photo session! Thank goodness we did them that morning!!
